ABOUT DOMINIQUE LUTRINGER
Artist Statement
Rooted in Japanese aesthetics and minimalism, my work explores the impermanence and harmony found in both nature and human life. Through sensory-based abstraction, I work with layered textures, rhythmic structures, and a restrained use of color. These elements come together to create visual spaces where warmth and refinement emerge through the physicality of the making process.

Biography
Born in France and currently based in Japan, Lutringer holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the École Supérieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence (ESAAix). He began his career in France, participating in visual and performing arts projects supported by the French Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture. Since relocating to Japan, he has focused primarily on painting, exhibiting both nationally and internationally.
Critical Acclaim
Dominique Lutringer’s work can be understood as metaphors of culture and nature. His simple and refined artworks, composed of straight lines and multiple layers of delicate texture, are characterized by the quiet rhythms and the restrained use of colors, which demonstrate his unique perspective on Japanese aesthetics. The artworks emphasize the singular repetition of lines and patterns, which embodies the aesthetic encounters between the viewers and the artworks. The artist seeks to perfect the idea of simplicity and to eliminate the unnecessary, to return to the essence of things.
